Dance Educators Assessment of Learning (DEAL)TDEA is dedicated to promoting quality dance education across the state of Texas. As part of that dedication, TDEA sponsors the Dance Educators Assessment of Learning. The purpose of DEAL is to identify exemplary dance practices aligned with the state TEKS to promote student achievement and success in the Art of Dance Education. The information gained through participation in DEAL will help educators design best practices to implement within their dance programs to enhance student learning and progress in the art of dance.
Dance Team Assessment (Pilot)The TDEA Dance Team Evaluation Committee has begun working with sub-committee members towards developing the State assessment model that will be proposed to UIL in June, 2025, in Austin, Texas. Sub-committee members were selected and invited to be part of the team post-TDEA Convention 2024. They have been a wonderful addition to the work that has been laid out and a representation of different backgrounds and areas of Texas. All membership is encouraged to attend and listen in on the council meeting. Dates and locations for upcoming 24-25 pilot assessments are underway!
